Gerstner has been making Tool Chests since 1906. Consequently the have perfected their craft over the years. I have owned a Gerstner for years now and have collected about ten of these chests over time. I purchased the Oak Base recently and I can only say it felt like Christmas when I opened it. The beautiful oak peeked through when the last layer of packaging came off to expose the chest! I was thrilled at the workmanship all over again just by examining my new oak base. The tight tolerances and tongue and groove fittings of the drawers is amazing to see. The beautiful finish that Gerstner and Sons apply to their chests is flawless. The price is normally quite a shock, but when you see one, you know you got your moneys worth. These chests will last a few lifetimes with proper care and are a memorable gift to anyone.
