We found lead. She was tested positive, and we stripped and repainted the window. Do go to the web site for instructions.

The kit appears to work but if you read the instructions it seems you can rub it for 30 seconds on, what, each of 4 different things since it is only "activated" for 2 minutes? then if you get a positive you have to guess which one was the one with lead? I did rub it for 30 seconds each on several different suspected items (using 3 different sticks) and after getting no positive results I wasn't convinced I was doing it right. I rubbed it on the inside of an old cabinet which had never been repainted in our 80 year old home and got an instant positive (it was brick red, not reddish or pink) so I know it works. Thankfully that cabinet is well out of baby's reach! It made me feel much better about the purchase!

But my GF says its bad for me so we got this testing kit and started testing stuff around the house.
Unfortunately (Fortunately?) for us we found out our favorite cupcake pan was lead city... lame. I really loved that pan. Some other stuff we used quite often tested positive so thats out the window too. Oh well.
Well, i guess its good to know... but whats that old saying, Ignorance is bliss?
