Vaultz offers a whole gamut of lightweight, rust-proof, self-locking, what are known as intermediate strength storage boxes from pencil cases to rolling legal files. While most are black, some of the smaller ones come in colors and patterns. They are relatively expensive compared to the far stronger steel security boxes on account of their enhanced appearance and nice features. They are fabric-lined, and nearly all of the larger cases have dual combination luggage-type locks, which is our only complaint about this sizable tool box. Two flip-up metal clips, one on each side, are substituted in lieu of, with one combo lock in the middle. Due to the case's light construction, we feel the standard two locks plus one clip in the middle would suffice to hold it, even with heavy tools inside. We don't use it for tools ourselves, but some equipment is pretty precious, meriting the extra security. Being water-proof, this case might make a nice tackle box. I purchased this item as a lock-box, along with a Wusthof In Drawer Knife Block (Oak, 14-slot), for my kitchen knives. The knife tray fit like they were created for each other! All of my paring knives and a couple longer knives I use daily fit in the hand tray for easy access. Larger and specialty knives are neatly organized below.

Recently we went camping. All the utensils I needed for cooking (ladle, spatula, spoons, tongs, etc.) fit easily in the base and hand tray so I had everything I needed. I also teach a cooking class for homeschool children and can put all the tools I need in my box and be on my way. I am never concerned about curious children trying to get into my treasure chest because it is so secure and I know all my tools are safe due to the sturdy construction.

Thank you for such a magnificent product! I didn't realize when I ordered it just how perfect it would be for the task but now find myself singing it's praises to everyone.

Okay, so I'm a Vaultz fanatic. I'm also a musician and artist, and use Vaultz products for a lot of my gear. Small Vaultz cases for tuners and accessories, CD storage for my masters, Vaultz pencil boxes for my Prismacolors - they're everywhere!
The Vaultz Tool Box is perfect for storing and protecting expensive microphones and studio headphones, and the lift-out tray is great for cords and small items.
The only items missing from the Vaults product line are guitar cases! (To the folks at Idea Stream, if it sounds like a good idea, I hope you'll remember who suggested it!)
