I like to tinker, so I used to lose nuts and bolts, especially small ones from laptops and other stuff, all the time. This thing makes all that go away. Anything magnetic sticks like there's no tomorrow to the 2 huge magnets mounted on the bottom (but it sticks to the tray on the top, of course). I use it to hold metallic tools I'm using too, as I hate dropping tools into engines I'm working on. I've spent several hours of my life digging nuts, bolts, and tools out from inside engine compartments, but not anymore! If you know someone who likes to tinker, this is a totally awesome gift and they'll be sure to love you forever and immediately deposit $3,000,000 in your bank account. :)

Don't have to search around for all of the lost nuts and bolts when working on the car on the lift. They stick to the tray even when it's upside down and don't get lost.

I was surprised by the quality of the product given the price - well worth the money. I bought it for use on small electronics and auto applications and ended up ordering 4 more for my dad to use in place of sheaths for storing knives in an industrial application.
