Plano 651-010 20-Inch Tool Box with Tray

I've owned a Plano 451 toolbox, 16" long and have been using it PROFESSIONALLY for well over 10-20 years. It's been through A LOT OF ABUSE. AMAZINGLY, other than being a little dirty with some minor cosmetic evidence that it's seen a lot of construction work, it's just like new. The hinge and latch work the same as the day I bought it. DON'T BE FOOLED by the "plastic" construction. This is great quality (I think it's polypropylene with brass hinge and latch.) The design is much better than the "Stack On" toolboxes flooding the retail stores now. (Plano has more usable space.) The new line by Plano, "Grab and Go" adds snap-in compartnentalized containers externally in the lid, but this takes away some interior space and adds a layer of complexity which is frankly no help to me. Plano has modified the 451 to make it deeper, which is an improvement on something already perfect. It's now called Model #451-005. I bought this box as a more secure (lockable) container to keep my prescriptions in. So, it is in that capacity this review intended.
You need to note the size of this box. It is larger than you probably imagine and yes, this is a very good thing. Just be aware.
This box is very well built. The handle is substantial enough for heavy usage. It is large enough to be comfortable for heavy tools.
The latches also seem very sturdy and well put together. They are easy to latch and unlatch.
The locking hole, for a padlock, is just large enough for a 1 1/2" Masterlock with a 5/8" shackle.
Everything about this box suggests and points to it's being sturdy enough for heavy use.

Inside the box you will find the tray and a box that is almost large enough to bathe a newborn in. The tray has a very comfortable handle that is one-piece molded with the rest of the tray. It is the sturdy enough for a set of impact sockets and any number of hand wrenches.

Happy with this product so far but it was much larger than I had anticipated. I'm still using it though and the overall quality is good. I hope it can take the day to day abuse.
