Plano Molding 858 21-Inch Tool Box with Drawers, Graphite Gray with Iron Yellow

I am a finish carpenter and wanted this box, because it is a plastic version of similar type metal tool boxes that I was thinking of getting. The problem with the metal ones is that they are too heavy with nothing in them, put something in them and they are really heavy. This box is light to start out with and after having it for two weeks, seems like it will hold up for a while. it is a good size to hold most of what I need it for. It is also good to sit on, when needed, and to stand on for a little lift up, when needed. Only drawback is that I wish the compartments were laid out better. If two of the four drawers were just one compartment instead of being sectioned off it would have been better for me. I cut out all the section walls in one of the drawers and that helped. Overall it is a great finish box and I hope it lasts a while.

This box, while almost 21" on the outside has no compartment that will hold an 18" long item! The top compartment is permantly divided into a 12" and 6" space. The 6" space is formed for up to 4 dividers, but no dividers that size were included. (I have a call in to Noble on that issue.) The drawers have an inside dimension of 15". Only one drawer has a small compartment this big. All the others are divided along the 9-3/4" dimension. I intend to use this for my custom fishing rod building equipment and supplies, but I will need to find a way to store my 18" reamers. If I can get the larger dividers for the top, I can cut part of the 'permanent' divider out and make it work. It did come with 17 smaller dividers (in two sizes) to customize the spaces in the drawers. The "Solid Brass" for the latches actually consists of brass wire loops that hook over the plastic latches.

I am an audio engineer and purchased this tool box to house a combination of tools and small audio accessories (adaptors, connectors, etc.) I have been happy with it overall. It is large, with a good sized top compartment that houses larger items (rolls of gaff tape, cable tester, soldering iron, small cables, etc.) It also has a wide variety of smaller adjustable compartments in the drawers below.

This is where my only complaint resides--the drawers are composed of all varying sized narrow slots, with only one drawer having a single triple-wide storage area. The single slots are wide enough for many items, but I do wish you could adjust the width of a few of them to accommodate larger and odd shaped tools/items in the drawers. I may wind up cutting out a couple of the dividers to suit me better.
