It's decently nice for the price, basically what you would expect. It's plastic based, but the flip lock on the front is metal. His knickname is "bee" so the black and yellow colors of this was perfect.
As for the actual toolbox....the whole piecing was kinda clicked and popped together. Like the actual main hinge on the back is plastic, but it's thick and decent. the flaps on the top, however, have those little rods molded on the side of the flap to where they pop into place to flip...like on a childrens toy box. It also goes in a little at the bottom...so it's not "that" wide...but still a good size. It was perfect for us, considering he just has needed household tools...However if you have a professional mechanic for a dad...I would invest the money to get metal one...or one that's wider.
