This is a review of the Waterloo plastic 3-drawer tool chest HP2331 (July2009) I bought this product because I needed a somewhat bigger tool chest that would hold all my tools - up to now stored in several chests - while remaining somewhat portable AND still allows some degree of organization. It is the latter where normal big tool chests fail: the tool you need is then always at the bottom causing annoyance since you need to unpack half the tools to get the one you want. Pros: - Allows you to organize/sort the tools over 3 drawers + main compartment - Drawers are reasonably sturdy: metal construction in otherwise plastic chest, with end-stop. Not rock solid, but adequate. - Drawers cannot be opened while chest is closed, allowing you to carry the chest safely. This review is from: WATERLOO INDUSTRIES #HP2331 3 Draw Plas Port Chest (Misc.) When my husband and I go out to work on amateur radio tower construction he takes along 3 metal toolboxes with 3 drawers apiece. Loaded with every possible tool we might need they weigh 80, 90, and 110 pounds and they are starting to deteriorate from rust. I bought this one as a trial run for a transition to plastic boxes. This new box is very solidly made and is not light by any means but we fully expect it to give us years of rust-free service. We will probably buy two more to replace the other two boxes. It is well worth the list price so I am tickled to find it for a lot less. |
